Asheville High School Spring 2021!

We could build water barriers and parks in and around all communities and instead of displacing people add value to their communities.

Be more inclusive! We seem to target keeping the wealthy, white people happy, obviously, and that needs to change! North Asheville is very white and secluded. It is sort of it’s own little bubble of wealthy, Simply Southern wearing, white people. 

We can tackle the affordable housing problem and raise the minimum wage so people can afford to stay in the green neighborhoods. We can use climate change as an opportunity to provide jobs to make the city more sustainable. 

My perfect sustainable community would draw from a large solar grid from deserts and a large wind grid from plains. These would power the nations, but for smaller tasks such as cooking, biogas would be used to replace charcoal and wood, thus creating a sustainable future. To do this we need to move past the economic system of today and work...

I noticed that it was always easier to focus on schoolwork when I was done, I enjoyed getting to take a little break and get some fresh air. 

I think that having a geothermal heat system is the most feasible for me. It would save money in the long run!

I think it would make sense to create an international fund and have other countries invest in the earth's wellbeing, I couldn't imagine that all 39 countries could just afford to change to geothermal electricity. Raising awareness would also be important and could sway be to help however they were able to.

My city can make sure their plans are equitable and socially just by making sure they don’t push out lower-income residents while trying to improve the climate. Everyone deserves a safe and affordable living environment, so don’t ruin that by giving more housing to the people who don’t struggle with finding a place to live.

Asheville can take into account the locals who live here and make sure they are not displaced by any plans made. 

If it's money, then maybe a hundred bucks or so.
