It will ensure I check foods for spoilage before I decide to throw it out and not assume food cannot be had because it is past the use by, sell by or best by dates since these are just measures of quality

I had heard about biomass energy but not researched it in depth. I found it so interesting how human waste also factors into this solution and how yet again the example of Kenya is used! 

I agree with the statement. Climate change is going to effect us, humanity, and our ability to live on this planet. The planet itself will be ok if/when we extinguish ourselves. Physically it will still be there, maybe altered but still there. Billions of years of change, I don't think we will damage it too much. But we will make it uninhabitable for us perhaps! George Carlin said it best in the 90s on one of his comedy routines: "we are like a bad case of fleas". 
I love the outdoors and fishing. I live near the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, a great resource and fishery. It is a shame what our actions will do to things like that. 

Plastics I think concern me the most. When I think about the "floating islands" of plastics out in our oceans I shudder. Human pollution is a huge issue both socially and environmentally. I know carbon is a large concern as well, but pollution bothers me more! 

I have heard about biomass before, but did not know a lot about it.  Surprising to learn about the use of feedcrops for fuel and other things. I will be doing more research on this and other topics. Work was extremely busy for me these last couple months, and I did not put in as much "EcoChallenge Time" as I would have liked.  

My wife and I do a garden, not huge as we live in a development but it is nice size.  In season we also shop at a farmers market or 2 nearby to support local farmers for things we do not grow in our garden. I am inspired both by dependable fresh food (that I know where it comes from and what goes into it!) as well as supporting local farmers and businesses. I have been trying more and more recently to "shop local" rather than the big chain or corporate stores.  

I have patronized several women owned businesses in my area. One is a distillery owned by a woman who is also a veteran of our U.S. military. 
Researching women-owned and minority-owned businesses can be done to help support these entrepreneurs. 

Before this challenge I had not heard of silvopasture. I think the biggest advantage of it is that it's a more efficient way of using space. You can get several products out of the same area of land, and those products can be higher quality as well.
