    Very concerned about what will happen to the advances women have made in Afganistan after the US pulls out.  It's the right thing to do but how can we support the women and girls to maintain the small amount of rights they have gained?

    In our community, equal pay for equal work is one of the biggest issues for women and girls. Opportunities in the STEM field are also more limited for girls and women. The FIRST Robotics program is a great way for girls to learn STEM skills.

    Up until the time of colonization of America, eating meat was considered the privilege of the elite.  With the abundance of wildlife free for the taking, grain to feed domesticated animals and wide open spaces that didn't belong to anyone (except the natives!), meat became widely available.

    I have been advocating for our Congressional leaders to sign on to the Environmental Justice for All Act which has been introduced for several years.  It now has a good chance to passing.  Please contact your Senators and Congress people to ask them to support this bill.https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/872

    According to a Washington Post article (https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2021/02/15/these-gases-your-grocerys-freezer-are-fueling-climate-change-biden-wants-fix-that/) from Feb 2021, grocery stores lose 25% of their refrigerants each year.  HFC emissions in the United States rose by 4 million metric tons between 2018 and 2019....

    Kiva.org makes microloans to people around the world who have no access to banks or credit to develop farms or very small businesses. Many women small holders borrow $300-1000 to buy seed or fertilizer to sustain crops on their small farms and to send their children to school.
