REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Baya D 4/30/2021 8:35 AMMental distress & domestic abuse are one of the most pressing issues for women the community in my area is facing. I have done some research the charities working on women issues in the Nottinghamshire area and I found the following:

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Baya D 4/30/2021 3:35 AMMy diet is plant-focused at the moment having a vegetarian partner. I found out trough some digging (excluding the usual culprit eg non-sustainably sourced palm oil) that our coffee consumption and our love for all things chocolate was contributing to deforestation too. I will make sure to look for rainforest alliance logo for all coffee/chocolate I purchase and look out for product using shade-grown cocoa and shade-grown coffee. -

These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety. What would need to change for you to regularly choose more climate-friendly options?
Rosie Akester 4/30/2021 3:10 AMCost & time are big factors. COVID also means that journeys we would have done by train… we would now prefer to use our car. Choosing more local destinations would help us be more climate friendly in the current situation.
