To my team, sorry I started late in the month but hope my efforts added to our goal and winning points! Tonight going to make Portabella Mushroom burgers (meatless), can't wait.

This has been a fun journey and I am more aware of all the ways I can reduce my Carbon Footprint! I will definitely try and keep up my targets.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

The answer is simple because the cost of producing meat products is high, hence the access remains limited to those who can afford it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Fund Family Planning
When family planning focuses on healthcare provision and meeting the expressed needs of women, it results in empowerment, equality, and well-being, and the benefits to the planet are side effects. Why is family planning an important civil rights consideration?

The question itself may be already providing the answer, but as an extra example - given that high fertility rates contribute to extreme poverty - access to contraception, as part of family planning, is a big help. In many countries, especially in the ones with less recognised women/human rights mothers who have more children are much less likely to find a salaried job or even complete school.

I may be repeating this to all my reflection replies, but awareness-raising is what we should continue focusing on; starting from schools and aiming to combat gender stereotypes and any form of expressed violence from the very beginning, clearly defining what is considered healthy behaviour, building our communities on that basis and becoming aware of the resources to use when experiencing or observing unacceptable behaviours. Of course the justice system has a key role to play! Victims and survivors should always feel safe to turn to justice, knowing they will get the help they need, instead of deepening their traumas, seeing their perpetrators remaining unpunished for their actions...I'm afraid we're still far from that though.
Recommending Oscar winning Promising Young Woman , which is addressing gender inequality, harassment and violence against women and girls in a very intelligent and alarming way.

Health and Education Connect With A Nonprofit
What are the most pressing issues for women, girls, and trans/nonbinary people in your community?

I'd say violence and sexual harassment, as unfortunately the relevant numbers remain unchanged over time in Ireland. Even in 2020, despite the decreased overall movement and social/professional interactions, sexual harassment cases remained the same or even raised, assuming within the domestic sphere and/or online.

    Transportation Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

Instead of driving, I walked to the shops near my housing area. Sadly, most people here don't walk due to the hot weather, so, neighbourhood engagement is very limited.

I am walking whenever I can. Regardless the weather. Usually distance below 2km in a city is faster to do by walking than by any transport. Unless very limited case when a transport is immediately available at your exact location and can drop you exactly at the desired location, and there is no traffic issues. So sounds like 2am conditions for a crowdy city ;).

What stood out to you most about your carbon footprint? What surprised you or sparked curiosity? Where can you take most immediate action?

Shocked to see my carbon footprint from food consumption could be so high, although I have done many to help the environment from 5Rs to minimum travel.
