I found this to be really interesting! I've always wondered what "use by," "sell by," and "best by" dates mean. From now on, I'll try to make my best judgement of whether food has gone bad based on taste and smell, rather than just the sell by dates on the package. Hopefully this will help reduce my food waste!

Health and Education Support Businesses Owned by Women, BIPOC, or Immigrants

I visited Bloom Bake Shop in Madison, WI, which is one of my favorite women-owned local businesses! Bloom is also very sustainable - they compost, source their food from local/organic producers, and provide amazing Vegan and Gluten Free options for customers. I researched more local women-owned businesses in Madison and I can't wait to check them out!

    Buildings Solar Arrays
Do you think Tony Seba's estimate about solar power is too optimistic? How do you think solar power will contribute to the solving climate change?

I do think Tony's prediction is a bit optimistic, we don't see that quick of turnaround on things like this, plus it is highly likely that big government will get in the way. If we can use renewable energy to generate energy I think it will go a long way in solving our climate change problem.

I do my best to support women-owned businesses, but i wanted to research more that I could do. I found a platform called Dough, which is like Amazon but all women owned businesses! There is almost anything you can think of on there.

    Electricity Calculate My Carbon Footprint
What stood out to you most about your carbon footprint? What surprised you or sparked curiosity? Where can you take most immediate action?

I was interested to see how much of an impact a reduced meat diet had on my carbon footprint. I've been trying to eat less animal products without giving them up entirely, and that has had a really good impact on my carbon footprint. However, having a car greatly increases my impact, event though it's a hybrid and has pretty good gas mileage. Trying to use muscle-powered and public transportation as much as possible seems to be where I can make a big impact!

I completed the LEARN ABOUT 'GREEN GENTRIFICATION' action today and found it very interesting to learn more about this problem. Green Gentrification, an aspect of environmental racism, indicates that climate action must be intersectional with equity to ensure that our communities are creating effective solutions. I would like to do further research on how Madison's Climate Action Plan is incorporating equity and racial justice into its framework.
