    This eco-challenge has been great! Thanks to this, I've significantly reduced my consumption of meat and my overall consumption of food due to eating in smaller portions.

    A sustainable community would make use of all of its sources and not create waste. For instance, the anaerobic digesters create energy from manure and other wastes.     Aside from environmental benefits, eating/serving smaller portions is good for our health. If we overeat, we can gain unnecessary fat, which can become a health risk in the future.

    Meat is more expensive since manufacturing it is rather pricey. The animals need to be kept in great condition, and this can be done through antibiotics, for example.     By spending more time outdoors, we can grow a connection with our surroundings. By appreciating one's surroundings, we can feel motivated to protect it from pollution and other risks. Nature is beautiful; maintaining its beauty is the least we can do.
