Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

The waste that motivates me the most to look at my behavior and relationship with food revolves around the amount of water and effort that goes in to growing/producing meat products. Every time I eat meat I am reminded of the land, water, energy and labor that goes in for just a small portion of meat. This motivates me to have meatless days through out the week to do my part in counter balancing meats impact.

How do others deal with recycling something that is mixed material? I for instance wanted to recycle a bag for bread today which contained both paper and plastic (the plastic is there so you can see the bread). Do you then separate the paper from the plastic, knowing that the plastic is probably non-recyclable?
