REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
CONWAY CHARLAND 5/24/2021 12:45 PMI have not heard of biomass, but the learning experience was fascinating. I learned how Biomass can be used in a variety of ways, such as heating and electricity. It reduce Greenhouse gas emissions at a great rate and even produces Carbon Dioxide just like fossil fuels. Not only that since it is a renewable resource it can replace oils in its place for transportation, electricity and so much more. Biomass has the most uses and it shocked me as to how one thing can have so many uses. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
CONWAY CHARLAND 4/30/2021 9:18 AMPlanting trees can be refreshing and helpful to keep your mind off of anything stressful or depressing. It also helps with the process of taking in Carbon Dioxide from the air making the air cleaner allowing us to having a healthier atmosphere -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Research and Advocate for High-Speed RailWhat are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety. What would need to change for you to regularly choose more climate-friendly options?
CONWAY CHARLAND 4/22/2021 10:15 AMIt depends on how long it will take and how much is being used. I do not go along on vehicles if it takes almost more than an hour. I like to do short transportations and I mostly walk or use my bike for transportation.-
John Hansen 4/23/2021 2:54 AMThe appeal to owning a car is that you are the one controlling it. This is good for long distance travel, but not for cities or even towns like ours.
I used to live close enough to DC that I could easily bike to a train station. Despite only using it twice, I loved the trains. It would be really cool if we had a passenger train connecting us to nearby towns, like Plattsburg. There is probably an existing railroad that would work anyway.
