REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Sandra Wintterer 4/07/2021 2:44 PMReduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose... being mindful of those means planning ahead when I shop. For me, this most often means buying from stores that have bulk bins (WinCo for the win!) and bringing my own reusable containers, which are in fact repurposed takeout containers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Sandra Wintterer 4/07/2021 2:39 PMKnowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates means not mindlessly discarding food because you assume it is no longer safe to eat. The bottom line - less food waste! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?
Sandra Wintterer 4/07/2021 2:36 PMI would rather spend $1,500 on a vacation than on food that ends up being thrown out. -
