Charles White 4/12/2021 9:28 AMGotta say, the cravings for coffee are REAL! I'm not sure if it's a habitual thing, having been part of the daily routine for so long, or if it's the dependence on caffeine. I also need to set aside some time to work on some of my one-time challenges! Would love to get them all checked off in the next few weeks. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?
Charles White 4/07/2021 8:26 AMHow would I rather use the money that is typically lost when we throw away food? I'd say put that money towards a down payment on a house, but $1,500 is such an insignificant portion of the down payment required these days, I guess I'd say put it towards a vacation. :D -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 2How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Charles White 4/05/2021 8:11 AMI already eat mostly vegetarian and vegan meals, and cook most of my food at home, so meat products and palm oil weren't huge issues for me. The big challenge for me is coffee, as prior to this challenge I was drinking ~3 cups a day. I've swapped coffee for black tea and have only had mild withdrawal symptoms, like a headache and fatigue.-
Louise Jane Wilkinson 4/15/2021 12:58 PMI'm a big matcha tea fan - just as much caffeine as a coffee (if not more) but it a more balanced 'buzz' so no withdrawl symptoms, plus it doesn't have the same environmental / justice implications as coffee. :)
