  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I telecommute two days a week - which is even better than carpooling as the car stays in the garage.

I wish I could commute to work! But, my wife and I always make sure to try and do all errands together (even if it's places one of us would rather not go to), so we only take one car and hopefully minimize the impact!

Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

I spent many hours researching electric vehicles before I purchased mine.

I utilize paper products like tissues & toilet paper --- buying more sustainable products is a step I can take.

I cooked two big vegan dishes this weekend to eat throughout the week - so it is easy to meet that goal. I find doing my food prep on the weekend helps me tremendously in eating healthy throughout the week.

How can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?

Virtual meetings have become a part of our company's culture in the last year (as it has the rest of the world) -- and this change is here to stay. So many of us will be continuing to work remotely from now on.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Accelerating Solutions Advocate For Greener Vehicles
How does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?

I drive an electric car (but I do not drive much at all -- much less than an average car owner) and educate others about my choices and how I can make it work for my lifestyle. I also live in a very walkable neighborhood and I run many errands on an extremely local basis.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Accelerating Solutions Support Indigenous Peoples' Land Management
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

I support my son's Native youth group - Clear Sky from the Urban Native Education Alliance - they do amazing work.
