So, while living up in the mountains and working from home, my daily walking challenge was a bit limited, from 10" inches of snow at random times throughout the month and other times wet/muddy, I have tried to do the best effort with this. Though I have been able to really try to tune out of technology while eating my meals and along the way have learned a few extra globally friendly ways to decrease my carbon footprint. I have also ordered my windows to finish up my task there and found some LED lighting which is easing on my eyes. Great way to really rethink how I live my day to day.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants

Locally we can conserve water, as we live in a desert and expend energy to pump in water. Globally we can reduce plastic waste and overfishing. I commit to using grey water to nourish my garden.

Eating more meat emits more methane into the environment, which affects everybody.

The energy and water that it takes to grow food makes me want to decrease my food waste. I've already started a worm bin in my garden.

I planted basil seeds today. I have a hummingbird feeder on my outdoor patio and the hummingbirds fly over my head while gardening. I am amazed by these beautiful creatures each time.

I walked on a local college campus. It was an easy walk due to the paths available on the campus.

How does improving your home's (or office's) energy efficiency help you better live out your values?

Upgrading my windows and doors not only helps save cost on heating my home, but helps create insulation to keep warm in and cold out. Creating a lesser of a footprint is key here, so using my limited electricity for heating, having improved windows will help achieve longer lasting results.
