REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Braeden O'Connell 5/05/2021 9:26 PMMy perfect sustainable community would draw from a large solar grid from deserts and a large wind grid from plains. These would power the nations, but for smaller tasks such as cooking, biogas would be used to replace charcoal and wood, thus creating a sustainable future. To do this we need to move past the economic system of today and work towards large government initiatives and projects. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Braeden O'Connell 4/23/2021 6:44 PMI think it's about switching to alternatives that are hopefully affordable. If I have learned anything in this class it is that the process of meat harvesting is awful. I think it might be time to go vegan. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Braeden O'Connell 4/17/2021 9:40 AMI think the greatest advantage of silvopasture is its ability to effectively deal with the symptoms of climate change and contain its own climate-damaging outputs.
