Food, Agriculture, and Land Use

Reduce Plastic in the house

I want to reduce the amount of plastic I purchase. I'm going to look for laundry soap in a cardboard box, hair shampoo bars, etc in boxes instead of plastic.

Found a plastic-free dishwashing pod: Dropps.  Same price as Cascade at Costco, but without the plastic tub!

Speaking of Food, Agriculture and Land Use; I happily donated last year's EIP to WA Food Fund - great service!  This year we are planting native species, and increasing the quail population by spreading black sunflower seeds on the ground.

Happily committed my EIP stimulus to a monthly donation to Wenatchee Community Resource center.

I've replaced plastic laundry soap, shampoo and conditioner, olive oil and dishwasher soap.  We got several sizes of draw-string cloth bags for veggie shopping.  We've learned which restaurants in the area serve their To-Go in cardboard or foam (only recyclables in Wenatchee Valley), and we shop there. Taking bubble envelopes to Target for recycling.  Getting rid of plastic was not that hard.  :)
