REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Megan Thiede 4/22/2021 11:01 AMI stopped eating meat in 2019, but I still eat seafood on occasion (particularly when I visit my parents on the East Coast). With documentaries such as Seaspriacy in the spotlight, it feels hard to determine what information is correct, and equally as hard to understand how we as individuals can create the most effective impact. Is veganism really the solution we should all turn to? Maybe we should instead shift the focus on buying from businesses that source locally/ethically, and support organizations advocating for legislative change to prevent illegal fishing. Regardless, this is a great, straightforward tool to help guide us as consumers along the way. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Megan Thiede 4/13/2021 11:03 AMI have to admit, I'm very guilty of always being in front of my phone or compter while I eat. I tend to go through the workday without taking a proper break. Very grateful to have this action to remind myself to eat lunch outside on the balcony - definitely helps for a clearer mind in the afternoon! -
Megan Thiede 4/01/2021 8:59 AMDenver team - happy Earth Month! I'm so excited to be your captain for this challenge. If you're new to Ecochallenge (like me) you can quickly get up to speed using this guide. Participants are encouraged to log in often to complete daily or one-time actions. As an incentive, we'll select one teammate at random each week will win a gift card to a Denver eco-friendly store (Zero Market, Joyfill, Refill Revolution, and more). At the end of the month, the top three teammates with the most points will win gift cards to Patagonia, Cotopaxi, or prAna. Feel free to drop a note in the team feed if you have thoughts on the actions you're completing throughout the month, and reach out to me directly if you have questions. Cheers!
