Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Electric Cars, Hybrid Cars
I will spend at least 30 minutes researching and weighing my options to see if a hybrid or electric vehicle makes sense for my lifestyle.
Transportation
Go for a Daily Walk
Walkable Cities
I will take a walk for 10 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.
Transportation
Use Muscle Power
Multiple Transportation Solutions
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Industry
Recycle Everything I Can
Recycling

Industry
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bioplastics
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and BIPOC-majority neighborhoods. I will avoid buying and using 3 single-use plastics and instead replace them with durable options.

Building Retrofitting
I will spend at least 60 minutes finding out if my city, region, state, or country offers incentives for retrofitting existing buildings.
Buildings

Forest-Friendly Foods 1
Tropical Forest Restoration
I will spend at least 30 minutes researching the impact of my diet to see how it contributes to deforestation.
Land Sinks
Forest-Friendly Foods 2
Tropical Forest Restoration
I will replace or remove from my current diet the palm oil, coffee, and cocoa products that are known to contribute to deforestation.

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Reduce Single-Use DisposablesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Mrigank Sharma 4/09/2021 2:54 PMI used to use straws, plastic bags a lot! Plastic bags substituted with cloth bags (just need to remember to carry them to the grocery store every time). Straw usage reduced drastically, and paper straws occasionally. Also looked into getting the steel straws - maybe that's a purchase for this weekend. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Mrigank Sharma 4/05/2021 3:17 PMMindful eating allows one to take a break from work, de-stress and catch up with family. It allows me to start again with new vigor rather than constantly staring at the screen-
Jennifer Yuen 4/06/2021 3:07 PMI'm definitely guilty of not practicing mindful eating enough, so kudos to you for being able to do this regularly!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Mrigank Sharma 4/01/2021 1:01 PMSmall portions means weight management, even more important in these times when physical activity has reduced drastically
