Disturbing - but awareness is important  https://earthengine.google.com/timelapse/

Definitely disturbing but I love seeing companies like Google using their technology for good to educate about the impacts of climate change!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Mrigank Sharma's avatar
    Mrigank Sharma 4/09/2021 2:54 PM
I used to use straws, plastic bags a lot! Plastic bags substituted with cloth bags (just need to remember to carry them to the grocery store every time). Straw usage reduced drastically, and paper straws occasionally. Also looked into getting the steel straws - maybe that's a purchase for this weekend.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Mrigank Sharma's avatar
    Mrigank Sharma 4/05/2021 3:17 PM
Mindful eating allows one to take a break from work, de-stress and catch up with family. It allows me to start again with new vigor rather than constantly staring at the screen

I'm definitely guilty of not practicing mindful eating enough, so kudos to you for being able to do this regularly!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    Mrigank Sharma's avatar
    Mrigank Sharma 4/01/2021 1:01 PM
Small portions means weight management, even more important in these times when physical activity has reduced drastically
