Land! Use what's produced to help save the quality of the land for future days/ years and the quality of nutrients in the food I eat.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

Locally, the city of Gainesville has now banned residents to use fertilizer in the landscapes due to the runoff / toxic effects in the waterways. I am looking for effect planting to keep pests away versus buying chemicals to "protect" or bring back to life vegetation including my lawn.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

Read a few articles about regenerative farming and the nitrogen cycle - very insightful. I started my own garden so it's been a great month to learn more actively about how to do it sustainably.
