REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/29/2021 11:23 AMHuman Powered transportation is good if you think from the environment's perspective, but not from the perspective of our daily needs. We need to judge where we can use muscle-powered transportation, i.e short trips, trips that are not time-bounded, etc. As more and more people start practicing this, we will have a huge impact on the climate as a whole. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Choose Recycled PaperGood job on choosing recycled paper! How can you take your action a step further?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/29/2021 11:16 AMOne person starts using recycled paper wont make much of a difference, the main idea is to preach it. I personally would promote usage of recycled paper among kids around my area wherever it is possible. These small small habits needs to be instilled in our youth so that when they grow up, they promote the same.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Tend A GardenHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.
Subhojit Mohanty 4/29/2021 10:59 AMThere have been many such experiences. Once at the top of a rainy mountain, completely at the mercy of nature. Once under the pressure of a waterfall where my body felt completely numb. In such situations you don't think of money, food, or any other worldly pleasures; you just hope that nature is kind to you. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/13/2021 11:21 AMGym and stadium are two places which I visit on a regular basis. Most of the days I have my friends picked me up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/12/2021 11:28 AMLooking for opportunities to practice these helps me in putting these R's into action. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/11/2021 11:20 AMAs per a article I had read few days back, a diet heavy in meat increases the risk of obesity, cancer and heart disease. But it also makes the planet sick. The livestock sector — raising cows, pigs and chickens — generates as much greenhouse gas emissions as all cars, trucks and automobiles combined. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Practice the 5 R'sWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/10/2021 10:58 AMROT- we should also look for opportunities where we can get fruit and vegetables wastes get bio degraded naturally. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Subhojit Mohanty 4/09/2021 11:27 AMHonestly, its very difficult to incorporate using an entire vegetable. But even if you're not able to use the entire thing, you could always dump the vegetable leftovers in a pit so that it can be biodegraded , or feed it to cattle(if possible). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?
