We have been planting both flowers as well as getting our veggies started from seed.  It is so rewarding to know you have grown something from seed.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/28/2021 5:30 AM
There are health benefits to starting with smaller portions.  This also allows the opportunity to eat more mindfully.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Accelerating Solutions Support Businesses Owned by Women, BIPOC, or Immigrants
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/28/2021 5:29 AM
There are several smaller women owned businesses in my area.  I particularly like to buy the products, share them on social media and tag the business page.  I think people are more likely to try something that someone they know has used and liked.  The local cake lady is not a hardship to support:)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/28/2021 5:27 AM
I think the exercise, knowledge of the environmental impacts and being able to enjoy nature while getting a little dirty is good for the soul.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Tend A Garden
Have you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/28/2021 5:24 AM
In general, being in nature is calming for me
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/27/2021 8:27 AM
I am motivated to have the fertilizer and reduce waste in general
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Conduct Virtual Meetings
How can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/23/2021 5:58 AM
Monitor behaviors of those in attendance.  Encourage people to turn on cameras.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/07/2021 7:28 AM
All of these are an inspiration.  I would add the health benefits that most local food provides.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Julie Milinovich's avatar
    Julie Milinovich 4/07/2021 7:27 AM
Fertilizing your yard. only use natural and green fertilizers on my yard
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Julie Milinovich 4/05/2021 7:25 AM
I enjoy the flavors of my meal more, am more aware when I have had enough and how to prepare it differently
