I've learned about the negative impact mass production of crops and cattle have, and the inhumane ways the animals are treated. I wanted to know where my food comes from, and I'm working towards it. I haven't been to farmer's markets yet, but my stepdad and I have been raising two steers this past year and hopefully they'll be the source of our meat for a year or two come this fall. We've been setting up a chicken coop to raise laying chickens so we have fresh eggs. We also started some seedlings a few weeks ago, mostly herbs and vegetables. There are also a few pumpkins and other squash/gourds.
