REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Accelerating Solutions Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy CreditsYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Shruti Madan 4/30/2021 7:43 AMTo reduce electricity usage making sure all appliances, AC, heater is turned off when not in use. Also spreading awareness in the community is equally important so that not only you, but also your neighborhood contributes to saving electricity -

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Shruti Madan 4/27/2021 8:53 AMPublic transportation has always been my favorite - ever since childhood (since born and raised in Mumbai), public transportation has been the best way to commute (avoids traffic, saves time, meeting new people or spotting similar faces each day..so many exciting things!). The reason I moved to the DC area from NYC was to live in a more greener space with good public transportation options! :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Shruti Madan 4/27/2021 8:49 AMI frequently visit the Grocery store and go on hikes, however I always walk to the grocery stores or take the metro (very rarely, only when the weather conditions are not favourable) - walking is a double benefit; you save the nature (by contributing towards pollution control) and you also get your cardio done for the day (yay!!) :) -
Shruti Madan 4/23/2021 5:47 AMMy earth month ecochallenge is going great! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Shruti Madan 4/22/2021 8:30 AMReducing - use of cars, cooking more than required, taking more than required on your plate
Reuse - silverware by replacing plastic, paper with steel, use steel utensils, plates, etc.; use water filters and pour water in the steel cups instead of using plastic bottles
