REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Phillip MACK 4/26/2021 10:05 AMMy Aunt and Uncle heat their basement using a corn burning stove. I did not think about the fact that using this fuel is practically Carbon neutral until after i read the attached articles. Using "perennial" biomass for heating seems like a great method to reduce carbon emissions without drastically altering existing technologies -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate My Carbon FootprintWhat stood out to you most about your carbon footprint? What surprised you or sparked curiosity? Where can you take most immediate action?
Phillip MACK 4/22/2021 7:59 AMI was surprised by the large contribution of "Goods" to my overall carbon footprint. I didn't think about the how the production and transportation of goods could result in a couch or chair with a high carbon footprint. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Phillip MACK 4/22/2021 7:44 AMPennsylvanians are advised to limit consumption of locally caught fish to less that 1 meal per week due to contaminants found in our waterways. There are certain streams that are actually considered to toxic to eat any fish that were sources there.

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Find a Local Climate-Friendly SupermarketHow close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?
Phillip MACK 4/21/2021 6:20 AMIt seems like the only Grocery stores in our area that use HFC refrigerants are ALDI's. I will try and purchase any of my produce from those stores from now on.
