REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/25/2021 1:20 AMI consume meat meat, dairy and eggs frequently. Just been more conscious of where these products come from and try to reduce/substitute consumption when possible. But we need to be careful here when substituting. Consuming these product if locally produced in a sustainable way ends up being a better decision that consuming some plant based products that are brought from very far away and produced in a 0 sustainable way. So keep informed -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Learn about 'Green Gentrification'Cities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/25/2021 1:12 AMIn particular, I am missing Dublin to be a more circular, better connected city -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/25/2021 12:53 AMNature has a significant role in human development and conduct. It has a vital contribution to the way we think, feel, and behave with others.
Exploring and enjoying my surroundings creates a connection with those places and a sense of appreciation. What will happen if suddenly tomorrow we do not have those places we love anymore cause we did not take care of them?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Research Barriers to Participation and RepresentationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/18/2021 2:23 AMWe are a world that loves to build barriers, its safer to build a barrier and not to worry about the problem on the other side that deal with it. The problem is that most of the times the problem is not on the other side of the barrier but in the side where we stand. By us.
Pervasive gender stereotyping
Discrimination
Under-representation

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/18/2021 1:26 AMUse by date is the last date recommended for the use of the product while at peak quality
Sell by date tells the store how long to display the product for saleBest by date indicates when a product will be of best flavor or quality None of them safety related.-
Clara Khachan Cano 4/18/2021 1:34 AMThis dates that have been living with us for a very long time are widely misunderstood today. Found myself in different discussions around this and everyone has a different understanding/opinion(!??)
Food products are safe to consume past the date on the label, and regardless of the date, consumers should evaluate the quality of the food product prior to its consumption.
It helps me not to discard food blindly on that but to 1st) Store properly 2nd) discard if it shows signs of spoilage. If these 2 alright, good to go.

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Buy BambooAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Clara Khachan Cano 4/15/2021 8:06 AMThere are bamboo alternatives available in Ireland for few things; from reusable coffee cups, cutlery to straws.
Here an article from IrishTimes about how sustainable is Bamboo
https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/is-bamboo-actually-environmentally-friendly-1.4364617
"The answer isn’t straightforward – and depends on a few factors such as what it’s being used to make, how far it’s travelled, and how it’s treated and farmed. This information, however, isn’t always easily available to consumers."
Got my straw and helped local business.
