Kathy Kendall 4/28/2021 8:35 AMDoes anybody else buy laundry detergent in pouches to refill those thick plastic jugs the detergent comes in? It saves a bit of plastic, and it saves money. Another laundry soap alternative I use is laundry sheets, which is soap without liquid. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Kathy Kendall 4/20/2021 10:47 AMWe decided to drive to Montana instead of flying. It took longer to get there, but it gave us more flexibility in the long run. Plus, we had high quality time to spend together just talking and sharing our lives. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Online Energy AuditWhat are your next steps for saving energy?
Kathy Kendall 4/14/2021 3:28 PMWe have already insulated the attic, insulated around windows, insulated walls when remodeling, and changed light fixtures to low energy fixtures. We installed a heat pump system. Insulating the crawl space would help and will be a next step. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Fix Leaky FaucetsWhat are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?
Kathy Kendall 4/14/2021 3:25 PMDo not overwater the lawn. Plant low water usage plants. Build a small, compact raised garden bed for fresh vegetables without excess water consumption. Use a high efficiency washer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Plan to InsulateWhat are some of the benefits of making your home more energy efficient?
Kathy Kendall 4/14/2021 3:11 PMInsulating our crawl space would conserve energy and keep our floors warmer.
