Jamie Jacquart 4/29/2021 8:30 AMI actually went to work today at my office! That allowed me to park in a distant lot, and then walk to several locations that I also needed to drop into as well. It felt so good to be able to incorporate some lifestyle exercise into my day!

Jamie Jacquart 4/29/2021 8:28 AMI've been trying to intentionally eat all of our leftovers this month and cut down on food waste. It is not an easy task, as the size of our family meal remains the same, but the number of people eating each night changes, based on the kids' schedules. It really is about being better at only preparing for the actual number of people eating, which has it's own set of challenges. If you're making a whole chicken, it's still a whole chicken. We did turn the leftovers into chicken enchiladas though, which was a big win! -
Jamie Jacquart 4/27/2021 8:58 AMI started the Climate Reality Project training yesterday, so it's a little challenging to add one more thing on an already full plate. BUT, I'm excited to learn their perspective on how to share climate change information. Here's to always learning! -
Jamie Jacquart 4/26/2021 6:53 AMToday I got my 20 minutes by running up and down the stairs while installing a new cable drop in our bathroom (too much info?). Anyway, I think that the extra hand stand necessary to get into the crawl space was a little bonus as well. So, exercise AND a project off of the to do list: Woo Hoo! -
Jamie Jacquart 4/25/2021 2:08 PMGot to spend some time working on refinishing a piece of funiture (an old Hoosier cabinet). It's so satisfying to peel off the old pain and get the surface ready for a new coat and to see a piece come back to life! Up-cycling furniture is a great way to give a new life to an otherwise overlooked piece.-
Leah Perrino 4/25/2021 3:09 PMI recently got a new end table that was a dirty grey color and I spray painted it white and it looks brand new!

Jamie Jacquart 4/25/2021 2:05 PMIt's not always easy to get outside when it's cold and rainy, but we waited for the afternoon and things to clear up before going out. So glad to get some extra time outside and smell spring!

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Support Businesses Owned by Women, BIPOC, or ImmigrantsGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?
Jamie Jacquart 4/22/2021 11:20 AMThis year we needed to get our house painted. When I asked for references from my local social network, all of the companies were lead by men, except for one. That is the one that we hired. Their price was fair, but in the process of evaluating the job, the company head and her female crew chief both listened to what we wanted, made suggestions and built off our our feedback to offer other options based on that. This was in stark contrast to how all of the male-lead companies interacted with us. We have also recommended them through the same social network whenever we see their name. -
Jamie Jacquart 4/22/2021 11:09 AMI just found out that a student that I had worked with is now on her second job in the sustainability field. I'm so excited to see our graduates going out and helping to change the world for the better! -
Jamie Jacquart 4/22/2021 11:02 AMWe just got the confirmation that our replacement windows have gone into production at the factory! I don't think that I've been this excited in awhile!!! -
Jamie Jacquart 4/22/2021 11:00 AMI just realized that Earth Day is just as important as my birthday to me. It that time every year where we can slow down for a bit, take stock of how we're living our lives, and strive to do better.
