Sometimes protecting nature requires feeling connected to nature. I will invest 20 minutes in exploring and appreciating a natural area in my region, whether a forest, wetland, coastal area, or somewhere else.

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Raynna Jackson 4/08/2021 8:22 AMSpending time outdoors is therapeutic for me because I am reminded that my surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Being outside keeps me grounded and reminds me to have gratitude for all of Earth's services. I am grateful to live in such a beautiful area, and I want to continue to protect and conserve the nature! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Support Businesses Owned by Women, BIPOC, or ImmigrantsGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?
Raynna Jackson 4/08/2021 8:20 AMI have purchased items from women-owned businesses and I have shared them on social media to pass on the support! I always encourage people to contribute to women-owned businesses because those are where the true values are. I can better support communities by spreading awareness about the importance of these businesses and what they stand for. Women-owned businesses have potential and can reach a wider target market. They give back and protect their communities. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Raynna Jackson 4/05/2021 10:01 AMIt allows me to feel more full after eating. I have enjoyed eating and sipping my coffee outside on the patio in the morning which relaxes me before starting the day. I have become more grounded and especially grateful for the food on my plate. -
Raynna Jackson 4/02/2021 10:07 AMAfter researching different ways to capture carbon emissions, I learned about this new technology technique where Hawiyah Gas Plant company captures 30 million standard cubic ft of CO2 every day and transfers it to an 85km pipe oil field and is injected into the oil reservoir. Not only sequestering the CO2 but also maintaining the pressure in the reservoir and enhancing oil recovery. -
Raynna Jackson 4/01/2021 1:46 PMI started this month off by eating my breakfast and lunch on the patio instead of sitting on my phone or watching tv while I eat.
