A climate plan that factors in the long term safety for those in vulnerable locations/situations would be one way to add some equity and social justice to the equation.

The earth is our only home, so we must consider how our every action and choice helps or harms it. We must take care to leave a healthy planet for our unknown descendants and those of the elephants, redwoods, and hummingbirds and...

What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

My vision for a sustainable community is one that has a circular flow, where materials are reused and repurposed on a continual loop.

One change needed to make this a reality would be to halt all single-use packaging and to develop a robust reusable container approach.

Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

    Kate Green 4/16/2021 9:31 AM
My market notes which fish are in which advisory category, but I'll have to look more closely at the details to see if they include the country designations and then refine my choices accordingly.

Making my home more energy efficient reduces energy use, saves on utility bills, and makes my home more comfortable. It also helps relieve pressure on aging utility systems and reduces pollution by reducing demand.

Yesterday I was able to get in a few evening hours on my paddleboard. I left all my cares at the shore, as I paddled into the water. I watched eagles and osprey in a ruckus; listened to redwing blackbirds sing there lovely song; and watched the sun drop on the horizon. It is so nice to be reminded of all the creatures who we share this space with.
