Wow, April went by fast! I wish I had time to do more, but I have learned so much already that I can incorporate into my life during the rest of the year. I’m celebrating with one more vegan meal tonight.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Robin Gaitan's avatar
    Robin Gaitan 4/29/2021 4:55 PM
It helps me realize that food may be safe even after these dates because they refer to quality.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    Robin Gaitan's avatar
    Robin Gaitan 4/29/2021 4:32 PM
It would help to save money on fuel costs if we didn’t have to rely on gasoline.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Robin Gaitan's avatar
    Robin Gaitan 4/22/2021 9:37 PM
I think it is because meat is more easily available in richer countries, and we keep eating it out of habit even though it’s not always the healthiest choice for our bodies or the world.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    Robin Gaitan's avatar
    Robin Gaitan 4/21/2021 8:39 PM
