REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Express My Support For Walkable CitiesHow could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?
Victoria Conti 4/27/2021 11:45 PMWe could make sure that there are more designated places to walk that are safe and away from busy roads. I think having more peaceful attractions such as Lithia Park really encourages people to get out there, walk and just enjoy nature! -
Victoria Conti 4/27/2021 11:44 PMMy Earth month ecochallenge is going way better than expected. I am learning so much on this platform and taking what I learn here to do my own research on the side! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Express My Support For Equitable Biking InfrastructureWhat do you like most about biking in your city? What would you like to improve?
Victoria Conti 4/25/2021 11:26 AMI love biking in Ashland because it’s a beautiful little town, I can bike around lithia park and all the other wonderful parks, as well as, get some fresh air. It’s also better for the environment. I would like the city to improve more rental bikes and possible bike tours to encourage people to bike ever more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Victoria Conti 4/25/2021 11:24 AMPlanting trees is good for my mental health because trees help us feel more restored and less stress. It’s good for my physical health because trees are proven to be able to trap airborne pollutants which is better for my lungs. And as for my spiritual health trees are a source of energy which can help center me in positive way, I can feel their vibrations and I can feel more connected to/with the planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Advocate for Forest ProtectionHigher standards of living are very often dependent on moving our environmental costs elsewhere. What are some specific ways in which the environmental impacts of your own lifestyle might be shifted elsewhere?
Victoria Conti 4/25/2021 11:18 AMTravel less, considering near sourcing more, conserve water, reuse, recycle, and using energy more efficiently (gas, electricity) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Climate Resilience Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Victoria Conti 4/25/2021 10:46 AMI have heard of biomass technology before I took this challenge but I really never knew anything about it or what it was. I was surprised to learn that five types of biomass were agricultural crop residue, forestry residues, algae, wood processing residues and wet waste.
