Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks
Use Cold Water to Wash your Cloths
About 90% of the energy used by the washing machine during laundry goes towards heating the water. Using cold water to wash some of your clothes eliminates this energy. This decreasing your carbon footprint. It's as easy as switching to cool water.
Electricity
Choose LED Bulbs
LED Lighting
I will replace 20 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Farm Irrigation Efficiency
I will prevent water runoff and increase absorbency by mulching the base of trees and plants in my yard.

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Geneva Coffee 4/28/2021 8:50 AMTake a look at everything you are throwing out. So many od us just throw things in the trash that are recyclable. Try to repair items that break around the house. We live in a world when something breaks it's just easy to trash it and buy new. If we take a minute and see if we can repair things we reduce what we are putting in our dumps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Geneva Coffee 4/28/2021 8:34 AMPeople in richer countries consume more calories, more proteins per then those in poorer countries. A larger fraction of their protein intake comes from animal-based products, especially meat. Livestock is driven by demand. There has been resent studies on this and it has been found that lower income people everywhere are eating more animal products as well. This is due to their incomes rise above poverty level and as they become urbanized. Eating meat high in fat can increased risk of certain disease's. This also affect our planet by the carbon footprint. -

Geneva Coffee 4/16/2021 3:31 PMUse them in a sauce. Just blend the whole vegetable and make a sauce or some may call It crazy. Most gravy/sauce is made from 100% vegetable's. It's very good, and good for your health as well.
