Regenerative agriculture can impact our community as people won't experience health risks from the chemicals used prior. This new type of farming might also make people want to buy locally at a local farmers market instead of supermarkets strengthening our communities bond.

Hana 's actions
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Smaller Portions
Reduced Food Waste
I will use smaller plates and/or serve smaller portions when dishing out food.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Learn More about Regenerative Agriculture
Conservation Agriculture, Regenerative Annual Cropping
I will spend at least 60 minutes learning about the need for more regenerative agriculture.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Tend A Garden
I will tend to a garden, or prepare for one, each day using sustainable gardening practices.
Industry
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Bioplastics
Cheap, single-use items and disposable packaging end up blowing around as litter more often in poor and BIPOC-majority neighborhoods. I will avoid buying and using 4 single-use plastics and instead replace them with durable options.
Industry
Practice the 5 R's
Recycling
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
Electricity
Choose LED Bulbs
LED Lighting
I will replace 7 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Transportation
Go for a Daily Walk
Walkable Cities
I will take a walk for 20 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn More about Regenerative AgricultureClean air, clean water and healthy food are just three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons? How could/does regenerative agriculture positively impact you and your community?
Hana Rose 4/14/2021 8:59 AMFrom a farmers perspective they should care about regenerative farming as they can save money. Regenerative farming saves them money as because the soil is healthier they can yield better crops without having to buy chemicals like fertilizers and pesticides.
Regenerative agriculture can impact our community as people won't experience health risks from the chemicals used prior. This new type of farming might also make people want to buy locally at a local farmers market instead of supermarkets strengthening our communities bond. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Reduce Single-Use DisposablesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Hana Rose 4/02/2021 7:03 PMOne single use item that I used to regularly use was bubble tea straws. Instead you can use a special metal straw that is made big enough for bubble tea. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Hana Rose 4/02/2021 6:51 PMAnother positive benefit from eating smaller portions is that we don't over eat. As when we fill up our plates too much we usually eat more than we really need to. Which can lead to unhealthy eating habits and obesity.-
Brandon Fowler 4/02/2021 7:06 PMI would also like to add that eating smaller portions of food can also save money as when you buy less food you spend less money.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Hana Rose 4/02/2021 6:48 PMI've noticed that after my walks, my head is more clear and I can work more productively and efficiently . I find walking through parks is the most enjoyable as, the trees and wildlife is a nice change from the normal city infrastructure.
