No matter how much I try I need to do more! I use a heat pump, recycle, use LED bulbs, have a time on my hot water to only heat 4 hour non peak everyday, plus others. Still not enough.

I walk my family property every day "Plawking" and I am truly amazed how much people throw out their cars while they travel and how many people make special trips to dump trash from they're homes or businesses. If it was reversed they would so upset!

  I totally agree. I once saw a picture someone took of a pile of trash opened and rummaged through by animals, and a letter with an address stuck out. The person who found the trash on their property sent a message to the guy to whom the letter (some sort of advertisement) was addressed to. Unfortunately, a reply wasn't included in that screenshot, but I so much would have liked to hear what he had to say about this. Plus, none of our neighbours walking behind our house (there's a small forest belonging to one neighbour where everybody walks their dogs) litters that beautiful patch of land. And almost everybody picks up after their dogs. It's a lot about feeling some sort of "ownership" (that forest doesn't belong to everyone, but everyone feels responsible to keep it nice).

As winter leaves, spring reveals the springtime harvest of “trash” left behind by lazy people who do not care about their neighbours, nor the environment. We clean the ditches every year finding garage from Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, cigarette packages, numerous beer and liquor containers. This “Covid” year we found many face masks. People would terribly upset if they were to have found this trash on their property, but because it’s a farmer field “who cares”. So, help your local environment and plan to do some “PLAWKING” in our neighbour for a greener outside.
