I had a pretty good (not short) commute to work pre-COVID19. I would be all in for high speed rail. Our commuting has changed since COVID19 for many with work-from-home changing how we go to work. I like work-from-home but also would enjoy not relying on a car to get me to work. I find riding mass transit relaxing...

A neighboring community has several vegetable gardens in their side yards where we can see how everything is growing. One person was out in her garden and talked with us about the different plants she was growing and which plants she was leaving to flower for the bees. It was great to learn from a local gardener.
