Peter Bird 4/24/2021 4:25 AMI read this morning that 51% of survey respondents in the US would be willing to buy an electric vehicle, up from 34% just a year ago (Oliver Wyman Forum as published in the Wall Street Journal 4/24/21). Impressive gains, but still the lowest figure among the other countries listed, including China (92%), Italy (78%) and the UK (54%). -
Peter Bird 4/23/2021 3:27 AMI was very encouraged by President Biden's bold promise to cut emissions by at least 50% from 2005 levels by 2030. Nice to have presidential leadership on climate again. -
Peter Bird 4/12/2021 4:22 PMWe live a 20 minute walk from Wegmans. I've been experimenting with how to incorporate such a great resource into my routine. I'm learning to buy a small enough amount of groceries to carry home. Haven't quite figured it all out yet, but working on it. -
Peter Bird 4/07/2021 12:42 PMI feel fortunate to have a grocery store within walking distance. Great way to combine exercise with picking up some food. I need to make this more a part of my routine. -
Peter Bird 4/06/2021 5:21 PM#RuthGibson I am inspired by your progress in this challenge! You are pushing me to stay engaged and learn more about how I can be a better steward of our planet. Thank you! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Peter Bird 4/03/2021 11:40 AMEating smaller portions can stretch the available food out to feed more people so fewer people will be hungry. -
Peter Bird 3/31/2021 5:24 PMWelcome, teammates! Looking forward to learning more together.
