Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

(this post is for a while ago) over spring break my family drove instead of flying, and doing stuff like that isn't uncommon during covid, but I think that after it ends people will need to start thinking about it more.

Now that the challenge is (almost) over, I am going to try to keep doing my daily actions as often as I can, and maybe doing some of the actions I didn't do this month but wanted to do.

Over the three day weekend I went to my grandma's house in rural Wisconsin, where we went on an at least two mile hike every day.

    Keira Beaudoin 4/23/2021 5:51 AM
It makes me feel good because I'm doing something for the environment, and also because I like to bike and am getting exercise at the same time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

    Keira Beaudoin's avatar
    Keira Beaudoin 4/23/2021 5:44 AM
I have noticed that the trees are growing flowers and leaves now and a lot of people have flowers blooming in their yards.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Practice the 5 R's
What are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

    Keira Beaudoin's avatar
    Keira Beaudoin 4/23/2021 5:41 AM
When I was younger I learned that there were three Rs, reuse, reduce, and recycle, but now that I learned about the other two I think about it more often because it applies to more things.

Since I can go back and add things I did previous days, I have been checking in twice a week instead of every day and remembering which things I did what day.

Way to be efficient! Good tip: if you forget to log in one day you can still go back and take credit for any daily actions!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Keira Beaudoin's avatar
    Keira Beaudoin 4/15/2021 8:33 AM
For me, meat is most of the protein in my meals, so this action has been a challenge for me.
