Industry
Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
Refrigerant Management
I will spend 10 minute(s) learning about the climate impact of refrigerants and what climate-friendly refrigerants are by using the links below.
Industry
Practice the 5 R's
Recycling
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.

Brandi Applebaum 4/22/2021 10:49 AMHappy Earth Day, Team! We're in the home stretch! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Research the Climate Impact of RefrigerantsWhat did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?
Brandi Applebaum 4/19/2021 7:01 AMI'm now thinking about something I didn't before. I thought solely about produce quality and plastic free but refrigeration didn't occur to me. I'm surprised to see how low my grocery stores are on the list. By shopping at Aldi or Whole Foods, I'll feel better about my food purchases. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Research Cement AlternativesConcrete is a good example of a material that most of us encounter every day, but its carbon footprint may not be obvious. What other everyday materials might have a large carbon footprint? How can you find out more?
Brandi Applebaum 4/19/2021 6:52 AMAsphalt and other construction materials. There's probably a lot that can be reused or recycled down from demolition sites. Construction produces a lot of waste. -
Brandi Applebaum 4/19/2021 6:48 AMI'm behind on reporting my actions! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Brandi Applebaum 4/13/2021 8:29 AMI think that overall, EVs can be safer than gasoline cars from a functionality perspective. Eco-conscious aside, I think that they're less likely to roll over and have a stronger center of gravity. -
Brandi Applebaum 4/13/2021 8:25 AMIt's been really nice getting outside in the middle of the day for a break between meetings. -
Brandi Applebaum 4/08/2021 11:11 AMI'm learning a lot and have done some initial research on energy alternatives for my unit. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Become A Master Recycler/ComposterWhat could you do differently to waste less?
Brandi Applebaum 4/08/2021 11:10 AMI could repair and mend more items and use things until I can't anymore. I can use Terracycle boxes and recycling programs to ensure that any waste I may have is repurposed.
