See the link provided for more information and a list of designated restaurants.

COMPLETED

Support Local Food Systems

Plant-Rich Diets

I will source 25 percent of my food from local producers each day. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.

This weekend I was hankering something on the healthier side and luckily I'm surrounded by a huge variety of restaurants. I just happened to order some sweet and savory crepes from T-Swirl in Squirrel Hill, and I had no idea that they were also a Sustainable PGH Restaurant! The crepes were SO good, and I definitely felt doubly as good supporting them.

I like walking to pick up things from my Buy Nothing group for my neighborhood. Not only do I connect with neighbors, but I also familiarize myself with the neighborhood and fun quirks, city steps, and other nooks and crannies I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

My walks have gotten a lot shorter to pick-up/drop-off things from the Buy Nothing group ever since the east end neighborhoods split into our own groups. :-)
