Surprisingly,  we discovered that our footprint is much better than we expected.  There is definitely room to do more.

We live in a beautiful neighborhood, one that is designed to enjoy activities such as walking etc, with lots of trails.  However, what disappoints me is the amount of trash I find along the way.   Would like to see ideas on how to educate residents of my community to be more mindful of their trash.  None of this is intentional, it usually is windblown trash that escaped from trash cans.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

Compost is a great fertilizer.  Composting also reduces waste going to landfill.  Several good home composting solutions are available through online retailers - and for those wondering - these solutions are odor free!

A great tip I learnt - Dont blindly swallow half chewed food.  pay attention to chewing every morsel in your mouth.  This increases digestion, and makes you feel fuller faster.  Added benefit - helps lose weight!!

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste Cooking
In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

Broccoli stalks make for a great smoothie ingredient.

Action Track: Accelerating Solutions Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

Fresh food and less waste, when we buy food from grocery stores or markets it includes lots of packaging(mostly plastic), when we buy directly from local vendors we can directly buy from them and just carry in our cloth bags which is less waste, it is also cost-effective as it doesn't include all production and packaging costs.
