It definitely makes more conscious of consumption choices and determined to make better choices.  No parts feel overwhelming, there is so much we can do together en masse that will change things for the better...the key is education and execution!

I walk around my neighborhood or get on a road bike and cycle on the streets for about 45 minutes. I notice the foliage on the sides of the streets. I would make more bike lanes and make them wider, if possible. Some people don't slow down much when passing cyclists.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Had you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!

Yes. I've actually researched it for a book I'm writing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Sean Butler 4/30/2021 12:23 PM
By not buying products that require products that require peatland destruction like palm oil and informing others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Sean Butler 4/30/2021 12:14 PM
No, I hadn't.  I think the biggest advantage of the silvopasture is the effect it has on the land and thereby climate change.
