This was an extremely rewarding challenge that further opened my eyes to the actions and solutions that are available to all of us, that will help contribute to a more sustainable community and world. It shows that taking even a few minutes out of your day to educate yourself and others can really have a lasting impact

This weekend I will volunteer and participate in Love Your Park (Philadelphia) where we will come together as a community and tend to the parks that make our city so vibrant.

Past week I volunteered to clean my block with 12 other block members. We picked up all the trash, cleaned the dirt and had a small breakfast together after! It was great seeing everyone come together!

I donated $5 to The Block Gives Back for planting a tree in the Philadelphia neighborhood and also requested all my friends to do the same!

By educating friends and family on the advantages of using public transport and also educating them on how that would impact the future generations.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

While some may say there is a religious or cultural reason to the consumption rates, there is definitely an economic piece to it. When I switched to being a vegetarian 4 years ago, I faced a lot of concern over how I would be able to get the right protein and nutrition. Watching documentaries and reading a lot about the cause, I came to learn how much misinformation has been pushed out and how various organizations can control the narrative. These companies have more to gain by targeting the richer countries.

Beyond health benefits, eating less meat can result in a significantly smaller carbon footprint, use less water, reduce pollution. I am not one to push being vegetarian or vegan onto anyone, everyone should do what they believe is right for them, but it is eye-opening to start to unlearn the misinformation that has been passed down.

I live right next to some convenient bus / trolley / train stations! I should learn their schedule and start using them to go around town, and make sure my friends & family know how convenient they are.

I agree with the approach of avoiding air travel and using more eco-friendly solutions. Hope more businesses allow for remote work so there will be less unnecessary business travels! As for personal travel, hope more and more people appreciate the tranquility of trains!

Industry Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

I was blown away by the impact fast fashion is having on ruining local economies as well as creating unnecessary waste. Moving from a few seasons a year to "52 seasons" is absurd. After watching this documentary I am determined to be less consumeristic and move to alternatives of either thrifting when possible or buying from more responsible companies. I am also looking at ways to minimize based on the outcomes of the Project 333, which shows that you clearly don't need more clothes and accessories.
