  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar

Storage tanks in garden I have installed. 4 in total. Rainwater pours into them, use for gardening and washing my cars! Brilliant!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/30/2021 10:57 AM
I don't care to express my fashion overly! Keep it simple. White T shirt. Dark Jeans and a jumper. I actually like molding in! Going to work each day actually helps as I can wear same suit and shirt each day and not have to think. 2020 was harder at times as you had to choose an outfit each day. !
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/30/2021 10:55 AM
Community, seeing same faces. Sense of togetherness. Pride picking up litter. Smiling at people! Little things. Appreciate my garden more. Local parks etc.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/30/2021 10:54 AM
Family time, playing with my children. Walking more. Taking kids to woods. Eating less food. Watched movie 'minimialisation'... really helped put into perspective how much we don't need! I even shaved my head in 2020, to reduce shampoo, hair gel, etc. Little gains!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/30/2021 10:52 AM
I use it all! I dont use any plastics. Changed plastic bottle water for can water. If at coffee shp, take my own keepcup etc. Avoid buying plastics and stick to cans.  Conscious to consume much less too.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Connect With A Nonprofit
What are the most pressing issues for women, girls, and trans/nonbinary people in your community?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/30/2021 10:50 AM
I have seen a lot of FB posts about women being attacked or harassed at night/when its dark. A lot of the posts are for women to be careful but more should be aimed at men for being mindful about how threatening they can be, unintentionally sometimes, but also be mindful of staring/comments etc. Men should learn and change their behavior.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What is the most exciting solution you explored? Why is it exciting to you?

    Elliott Wallis 's avatar
    Elliott Wallis 4/29/2021 11:22 AM
Most exciting solution is solar. SOOOOOO much possibility especially in warm climates.. Need to change the world!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Elliott Wallis 4/29/2021 11:11 AM
Judaism practices not touching electricity for 25 hours on the weekend/sabbath. Maybe they're on to something!!!! Reduce electricity consumption like we are living 2,000 years ago!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Elliott Wallis 4/29/2021 11:10 AM
Changing energy supplier too to Bulb who 90% of their energy comes from renewables.
