Action Track: Climate Resilience
Local Perennial Biomass
Perennial Biomass Production
I will spend at least 15 minutes finding out if anyone is working on perennial biomass projects in my region and how I can get involved.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Zero-waste Cooking
Reduced Food Waste
I will cook 1 meal(s) with zero-waste each day
Transportation
Use Muscle Power
Multiple Transportation Solutions
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Industry
Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
Refrigerant Management
I will spend 15 minute(s) learning about the climate impact of refrigerants and what climate-friendly refrigerants are by using the links below.
Industry

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Accelerating SolutionsWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Lawson D'Ambrosio 4/08/2021 9:52 AMI'd like to leave the planet better than it was when I got here, leave a cleaner, more equitable world for future generations, work towards more future forward technology like renewable energy, microgrids, and the like. It's almost entirely pro's with very few cons to be had in moving towards more sustainably focused actions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityWhat stood out to you most about your carbon footprint? What surprised you or sparked curiosity? Where can you take most immediate action?
Lawson D'Ambrosio 4/07/2021 4:42 PMSort of astonishing how baseline brutal the western lifestyle is on the planet. I came in well below the average carbon footprint and, per its calculations, my lifestyle would still require a little more than 2 planets to support if everyone on the planet lived exactly as I did. Really drives home the need for immediate individual action as well as governmental and institutional action to shift the paradigm towards carbon neutral/negative systems that will enable us to enjoy a similar quality of life without destroying the planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Accelerating SolutionsHow can micro energy solutions reduce inequities? Why is this important to you?
Lawson D'Ambrosio 4/07/2021 4:38 PMI've been surprised at the general non-investment in governments around the world in microgrids, as it is a particularly effective grid security measure and ultimately would lead to significnatly cheaper grid stability and functionality which, at the end of the day, is largely what most current govt's are concerned about, more than equity (unfortunately). As an equity solution, its fantastic - as any measure of increased independence and consistent access to (affordable) utilities are great precursors to facilitating a shift out of poverty. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Accelerating SolutionsWhat are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety. What would need to change for you to regularly choose more climate-friendly options?
Lawson D'Ambrosio 4/07/2021 4:36 PMWith the flexibility that WFH/Covid life has provided, Im much more flexible in my day-to-day transportation - opting to walk, bike, or take my motorcycle, all of which less emmissive than driving a car around. I still havent come to use mass transit much, in part due to health concerns during the pandemic, however I am much more interested than I have been previously in using mass transit to get around within the city. Outside of the city, I have always enjoyed train as a means of transportation, however the cost is generally comprable to airfare and, unless I've got an abundance of spare time, I generally prefer the faster transportation that airfare offers, esp. since overnighting in a train is either really uncomfortable in coach, or really expensive for a sleeper car.
