REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Vicki Sword 4/11/2021 7:34 PMSmaller portions can also help with healthy eating and weight management. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Vicki Sword 4/06/2021 3:37 PMI have to give myself a lot of reminders for mindful eating, but it is worth it. I enjoy what I eat more and I am more aware of how much and how quickly I eat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Vicki Sword 4/05/2021 8:14 AMAs it is getting warmer, I notice more people are out walking. It is nice to see more of my neighbours and check in. My walks have been mostly on roads lately and I am looking forward to getting out on some of the local trails soon. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Vicki Sword 4/05/2021 8:06 AMEach time I go for a walk or hike, I think about how lucky I am to live in Dufferin County. There are always new places to explore and sites to see!-
Nicole Hambleton 4/05/2021 9:47 AMHi Vicki! I totally agree. I am SO grateful to live in Dufferin and have beautiful places to walk outside of my door. I do see more people out connecting with nature which is awesome! I've also noticed garbage popping up now that the snow has melted, so I carry a bag to pick it up when I'm on my daily walks.
