  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

I’m not really sure but I think it should cost like a lot of money to fix whatever is going on. I think the best investment would be reduced. I don't know why but I think its going to be reduced. So maybe like maybe money would be the best way.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Watch a Video about Methane Digesters
What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/28/2021 8:24 AM
My vision of a sustainable community looks like a healthy community like for littering, focus on helping build a good community. Something that would need to change in order for such a vision is the people that are not going to help fix the community might have to join a different community or something.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Learn More about Biomass
Had you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!

    Antoria Stinson 4/27/2021 7:25 AM
I have not heard of biomass technology before this. This is my first time even learning about this. Something that I learned that surprised me was that only perennial biomass is advisable, offering a “bridge” solution to clean, renewable production.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/27/2021 6:54 AM
Just tell people that whoever lives close to them to protect them as much as they can. Just by telling them what to do to protect them. You could do some research if you don’t know what to do to protect. Just go by the steps in order to protect them. You could replant wetland/bog plants.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Bioplastics
What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/22/2021 6:57 AM
Something that concerns me the most about how we are affecting the planet is littering. How much do people litter a day? How can we stop littering to make our environment a better place to live?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/20/2021 9:30 PM
Some impacts that I have on my thinking and actions are always to look on the bright side. Every time I feel stressed or something I just always think to look on the bright side because things could be worse. No parts feel overwhelming. I’m not for sure.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/19/2021 7:32 AM
My diet currency is impacting deforestation by eating pork/ breakfast fry up. So maybe I should stop eating pork and start eating healthier foods. What I can do to decrease my negative impact and increase my positive impact would be to eat more fruits and vegetables. Also eat more healthier foods.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/16/2021 9:02 PM
I have never heard of the term “silvopasture”. Like I never learned about it either at all. Not at all.  I think the biggest advantage of silvopasture is adding a livestock production component.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/16/2021 7:09 AM
I will start saving food if the food doesn't expire of if the food did expire see if its still good enough to eat and give it to my neighbors. Share food. I would share my food/groceries.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Research Barriers to Participation and Representation
What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Antoria Stinson's avatar
    Antoria Stinson 4/13/2021 7:00 PM
Some barriers that exist to women’s equal participation is that some women are not getting employed. Some women think they are better than others and get employed first. The reason why I think some women are employed first than other women is because of their background and their richness or something like that. Women that are “rich” or have a good background might be more likely to get employed. While other women that are “poor” might not be likely to get employed.
