  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Local Food Systems

I like the smell and the taste of fresh food for sure. It is certainly than what I buy at the supermarket.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?

I would rather donate this money to a non profit organization re-sustainability instead of throwing it way.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

I spent 30 minutes learning about the expiration dates on the food packages. I did learn a few new things I was not aware before, such as expiry date is not a must but can still be consumed if the product is still good. and expiry date is something to be looked at for infant products only.
