Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

I have noticed the reduction of waste that I have by doing this.  Normally for trash day, the can is full for a week but I only had 1 bag in it this week!

Woke up to SNOW this morning in Cincinnati so I won't be able to work in my flower beds/ garden.  Looking forward to the snow melting and warmer temps soon!  I notice how the weather and getting out does make me more productive and feel better all-around when I am outside doing something.

Getting outside and tending to my flower beds is something I look forward to each day.  With the sun out and warmer temps, it has been very enjoyable.

I have thrown food out before by looking only at the date.  After reading this article, I will stop and consider where it is (freezer, pantry, fridge) and also what it is.  This article can give you a different perspective on just tossing stuff!
