REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Learn about 'Green Gentrification'Cities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Aleah Rowe 4/30/2021 8:31 AMIf we make taller instead of wider buildings so they are using more ground space and keep community gardens and the top of these buildings green, then it will help filter out C02 emissions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Explore Other Electricity SolutionsWhat is the most exciting solution you explored? Why is it exciting to you?
Aleah Rowe 4/28/2021 8:52 AMI think methane digesters are the coolest, because they take bio waste that would otherwise be thrown away, and turn it into energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Aleah Rowe 4/27/2021 8:59 AMI have heard of renewable energy, not the term biomass technology. I think it is really neat how we are turning old living things into renewable energy, and using that instead of fossil fuels which are more harmful to the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Research PeatlandsMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Aleah Rowe 4/26/2021 10:10 AMReducing my use of palm oil if possible, and recycling paper, and other recyclable materials so I am using less paper. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry BioplasticsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Aleah Rowe 4/22/2021 8:48 AMLocally water pollution concerns me the most because we have one of the nation's largest watersheds. Globally it is probably deforestation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Aleah Rowe 4/20/2021 8:41 AMI currently don't eat red meat so for me eating more sustainable meats, and eating less of them can help with deforestation because corn is fed to those animals and corn to get planted the area needs to get deforistized. -
Aleah Rowe 4/18/2021 5:26 PMIt is going pretty goood. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Aleah Rowe 4/18/2021 5:25 PMI have never heard of silvopasture before. I think the biggest benefit of it is probably soil health. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Learn about the Need for Family PlanningWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?
