  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/20/2021 11:45 PM
I would spend more time driving and make a roadtrip out of it
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Buildings Replace Manual Thermostats
How do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for smart ones will positively impact your life?

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/18/2021 8:41 PM
I believe that replacing them will allow for better regulation and power usage for the whole household, and will minimize any more pollution we may create
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Advocate For Greener Vehicles
How does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/17/2021 7:49 PM
I think that advocating makes the more fuel-efficient vehicles have a higher chance for more people to be using them!

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/15/2021 8:13 PM
In my personal experience it was pretty easy to change my diet. Sure it might be harder at first but after sticking to it for a while it becomes a habit
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/13/2021 10:28 AM
When eating without distractions I pay attention to the things around me more, like the sounds from the outside. Our kitchen is next to a sliding glass door so I can look outside and observe the weather or the plants while eating
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Jordy Ortiz Velazquez's avatar
Jordy Ortiz Velazquez 4/12/2021 9:14 PM
Human activities could include waste and the consumption of chemically altered food. Companies produce what we consume the most so I believe that the runoff from these chemicals may also play a part in the health of water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

My mom has a garden in which I help her at times with planting and maintaining all the vegetables! I've never really had an experience in nature that's altered my perspective but I've always been very considerate towards the environment
