  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

I noticed that practicing mindfulness really allows me to enjoy what I am eating. I usually eat while watching tv or using my phone so I don't really pay attention to what I am eating, but while practicing mindfulness I was able to enjoy my food and mentally prepare for the day ahead.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

My step is to improve my lighting usage overall. I've noticed that sometimes my family members leave some of the lights on without necessarily needing them. I think this is something we can improve on.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Eating smaller serving portions allows us to reduce our current food waste problem. Smaller portions also help us eat healthier portions rather than excessive calories.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Jesus Orozco 4/09/2021 12:07 PM
People in richer countries eat more meat than in other places because they more accessible resources, therefore their diet is much different than in poorer counties. Eating processed meat depletes our natural resources by not only using our finite resources but by polluting those around the CAFO centers.
